LOGO DESIGN
JSA logo_white_background.png

Problem to Solve:
The officer board of JSA was refreshed in winter 2020, and the first thing we wanted to do was to wipe off the negative public image JSA had. To express our reborn and commitment, we decided to change the identifier, the JSA logo, which was giving negative impressions such as scary, stressful, and dark.

Solution:
My first goal was to make a stylish and simple design that contains elements from Japanese culture (Mt. Fuji and Cherry Blossom). The second goal was to make it in a red circle. That way, when the logo is on just a plain white background, it looks like the Japanese Flag (the table runner image is a good example of this). Making it circle worked very well with social media profile image as well. The simple two-color logo was a great solution especially when we wanted to adjust the color to fit better in a variety of graphic tones.
